The Team - Loren Design

THE TEAM

In common with many smaller practices, the size of the practice varies with our work load. We currently have two members of the team with us:

Richard Loren
A graduate of Westminster University (formerly The Regent Street Polytechnic), is the founder and managing director of Loren Designs, Ltd. An expert in the world of architecture and design, Richard brings his years of experience in both the private and pubic sectors to his own business. Prior to embarking on this venture, Richard has been a Chief Architect within a multi-disciplinary practice where he was responsible for a variety of projects. He was principal architect for the refurbishment of Mansfield Theatre, Lewes railway station and also a £23 million project in the City of London for the Mercers Company. He also worked with Charles Mador on Celtic Manor Golf Club clubhouse and prior to that was a member of the Alexandra Palace Development Team, with particular responsibility for rebuilding the Great Hall after the fire in 1980.

Establishing his own practice in 1999, Richard now focuses on utilising his creative vision and experience to effectively manage projects. His areas of expertise include adapting historic buildings for modern uses, refurbishing existing buildings that require sympathetic treatment, as well as residential and commercial ventures.

A firm believer in form reflecting functional, Richards designs aim to be attractive as well as effective. His experience with managing major projects ensures tight time and budget control. In all projects, Richard looks to find the best aesthetic ways of combining environments while always keeping sustainability to the fore.
